Doctrine of God – Attributes, Trinity

God is not a created being; he is the eternal God. (Deut. 33:27; Ps. 90:2; Isa. 57:15; 1 Tim. 1:17) He has always been God and is the only true God. (Isa. 44:6) God’s incommunicable attributes include His omniscience (Ps. 139:1-4; Rom. 11:33; Heb. 4:13), omnipotence (Gen. 18:14; Ps. 147:5; Jer. 32:17; Eph. 1:19-20), omnipresence (Ps. 139:7-10; Jer. 23:23-24; Acts 17:27-28), eternal nature (Dt 33:27; Ps 90:2; 102:12, 27; 1 Tim 1:17), and independence. (Is 40:13-14; 44:24; Jn 5:26; Acts 17:25; Rev 4:11) God is loving (Deut. 33:12, Ps. 42:8; Rom. 5:8), wise (Jer. 10:7; Dan. 2:20-21; Col. 2:2-3), forgiving (Ps. 103:12; Neh. 9:17; Rom. 9:16; Eph. 2:4-5), patient (Num. 14:18; 2 Pet. 3:9-15), righteous (Ps. 36:6; Ps. 89:14; 2 Pet. 1:1), just (Deut. 32:4; Ps. 72:2; Rom. 3:25-26), and holy (Is. 6:3; 1 Pet. 1:15-16; Rev. 4:8).

God exists as a trinity of persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Each is fully God, yet each is distinct from the other. The Lord is one. They are three distinct persons with different functions, yet they are all one God. God is unchanging in his character, nature, purposes, and promises. (Num. 23:19; Ps. 102:27; Heb. 6:17; James 1:17) All three are eternally coequal and in eternal communion with one another.

I believe in homoousios and reject heteroousios and homoiousios. The Father exists and does not come from any source; he is neither begotten, nor proceeding. I believe the Son is eternally begotten of the Father; the Holy Spirit eternally proceeds from the Father and the Son.  I believe the divine being is an indivisible one and has the same divine essence.
